Deedlines

Privacy Policy

How Deedlines handles information on the website and in the iOS and Android applications.

Effective and last updated: October 3, 2026.

Information you choose to provide

  • Identity, name and email returned by Google or Apple when you choose to sign in. An account is optional.
  • Private saved parcels, map places, lists, notes, preferences and alerts.
  • Parcels you save without an account stay in the browser or app storage on your device. Deedlines does not receive them unless you create an account, which copies them into it.
  • Posts you publish in a parcel’s public discussion, signed with the first name and last initial of your account’s name. Posts are public: anyone can read them, with or without an account. Reports you file about a post are seen only by Deedlines.
  • When you choose Share on a list, an unguessable read-only snapshot link. The snapshot excludes notes and follow-up dates and can be revoked.
  • Search requests sent to the parcel API. Search text is not sent to advertising analytics.
  • Messages and any photos you send through the support chat, with the page you opened it from and the parcel you are reporting, if any. They are kept on Deedlines’ own support server and are not sent to analytics.
  • On the website, subscription or purchase status associated with Stripe. Deedlines does not receive complete card numbers.

Location

Location is requested only after you press the locate control (or, in the iPhone app, choose to start from where you are) and is used to position the map and to measure how far you are from a parcel’s lines. In the iPhone app, once you start following your location, it keeps measuring while your phone is locked, shown on the Lock Screen and by the system location indicator, until you stop it with the close button. Your location stays on your device: it is not sent to Deedlines. A parcel you save stores the parcel’s location, not yours; on the website, a map view you deliberately save is stored in your private account. You can decline and search or move the map manually.

Public property records

Boundaries, parcel identifiers, land use, acreage, property addresses, owner names and tax-mailing addresses come from public county assessor or government records. The website and iOS and Android applications may display and search the fields that each source lawfully publishes. Availability and update dates vary by jurisdiction.

Service and device information

Hosting, API and security systems may process IP addresses, request timestamps, user-agent strings, error details and coarse product actions to operate, secure and diagnose the service. Store apps disable the website’s Google Analytics and Meta advertising measurement integrations.

Processors and sharing

  • Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, private data and backend functions.
  • Apple and Google when you choose their sign-in service.
  • Cloudflare and R2 for site, API and parcel-tile delivery.
  • Esri and its listed providers for the basemap.
  • Stripe for website payments, invoices and subscriptions.
  • Google Analytics and Meta on the website only when configured and, where required, after consent.

Deedlines does not sell private saved-account data. Information may be disclosed when legally required or necessary to prevent fraud, abuse or threats to the service. Anyone you give a shared-list link to can open that snapshot until it is revoked, so treat the link as access to the parcel labels it contains. Discussion posts are public by design and are shown to everyone who opens the parcel they are about.

Retention and deletion

Account data remains until you delete it or it is no longer needed to provide the service. Security logs are retained only as reasonably needed. Billing records may be retained where tax, accounting, dispute or fraud-prevention law requires it.

You can delete your own discussion posts at any time, and Deedlines may remove posts that break the Terms of Use. Deleting your account also deletes your posts and the reports you filed.

Delete your account from Account settings. The account deletion page provides the direct path and scope.

Security, changes and contact

Deedlines uses authenticated rules, encrypted transport and server-side authorization, but no internet service can promise absolute security. Material changes will be posted here. Start a privacy or data request through support.
